Industrial, wireless lamps for airports
Client

The customer is a Warsaw-based company with strong expertise in portable lamp solutions for airport runway lighting.

Business Challenge

Due to the fact that in some countries the runway lamps are subject to theft, and monumental mounting is not an option, the high-tech protecting solution had to be found.

Solution

To solve the issue of registering the theft attempt and notifying the caretaker, GlobMill created a solution based on an accelerometer/gyroscope, loud piezo-siren and special light-code of every lamp connected via a wireless mesh network. Thus achieved a highly visible and audible notification of a theft attempt, that cannot be stopped without disabling the alarm mode from the main control point or knowing the special sequence of touching the lamp casing.

Impact

The solution has passed the proof-of-concept stage and was shown on the Inter Airport Show in Germany in 2018. The most interest was shown by the customers from Africa-based companies (as expected).

Software

Embedded C, VB, Windows CE
